Rx Protocol Analyzer Stacking
You may stack Rx protocol analyzers together to synchronize trace-taking. When
stacked, you can configure the Rx analyzer to capture and analyze traffic from
multiple buses of the same type or you may use a mix of different protocol
analyzer bus pods. This unprecedented power allows you to use several Rx
protocol analyzers in different labs at one moment, each working on different
projects. The next moment you can put them together to capture bus traffic of
multi-protocol complex systems. When stacked, the Bus Doctor Rx protocol
analyzers share a common reference clock and can trigger across buses.
The Bus Doctor software for the Rx has all the display options, functionality,
and analysis tools of the other Bus Doctor analyzer models. You may see the
details of each bus under test. In addition, the Multi-Analyzer display shows
you the Command Listing summary and State Listing displays for all the buses
with which you are working in an interleaved, color-coded displayed sorted by
the common time stamp.
A double-click in any of the individual Command, State,
Histogram, or Waveform displays or in the Multi-Analyzer Display will
synchronize the displays for all the bus displays to the same point in time. The
Rx gives you the ability to simultaneously capture traffic from different
storage, networking and backplane buses.
Rx Protocol Analyzer Configurations
The Rx protocol analyzer is compatible with Bus Doctor protocol analyzer bus
pods. The Rx is available in three models: a 36, 108 and 252 memory channel
model. In addition, each model is available in three configurations: Slim, Fit,
and Buff. These configurations offer very large trace buffers of 16, 64 and 256
million events respectively (up to 9.2GB of dedicated high-speed memory for a
Rx-252-Buff).
All the Rx models ship with a USB 2.0 port and cable for connection to a host
computer. The power supply is auto-switching.
Each Bus Doctor analyzer offers the following features:
Modular Design
Each Bus Doctor is designed to work with multiple buses. By connecting a Bus
Doctor bus pod to the analyzer, you configure the system to be a dedicated
protocol analyzer for that bus. This means that you can use a single analyzer
with many different buses. It also means that you only need to use one common
user interface and tool-set to work with many different buses.
The industry's most powerful triggering
The Bus Doctor software application provides you with high-level dialogs that
allow you to create very powerful triggers within moments by selecting options
from pull-down lists and other click-able selections. You may also create custom
triggers by using our 12 level trigger sequencer. For each level of the
sequencer you may select from high level options or down to signal-level detail.
The sequencer includes 2 timer and 2 counter levels.
Deep Trace Buffers
Bus Doctor analyzers can capture up to 256 million events in their dedicated
trace buffers. You may partition the buffer into segments to work with multiple
traces in the buffer at the same time.
SAS/SATA Expert Analysis
Automatically identify SAS/SATA protocol violations, interoperability problems,
performance issues, and errant behaviours.
Hardware Assisted Search
Hardware search logic makes it possible to search the entire 4.6 GB of memory
for any pattern in 1 second or less. It is the only SATA analyzer with this
feature.
Logic Analysis
Provides logic analysis in addition to protocol analysis; these two critical
functions in one compact unit save both valuable desktop space and money.
Bus Specialization
The Bus Doctor's advanced core technology tailors the software and hardware to
whichever bus pod is attached to provide you with the display, decode,
filtering, triggering, and analysis tools necessary for the specific protocol.
