Finisar's NetWisdom Enterprise solution is the industry's first complete suite of products that proactively monitor, detect, diagnose, and analyze enterprise storage SAN infrastructures – thus providing unparalleled insight that has never before been available to the SAN administrator. NetWisdom provides real-time and historical insight into application latency and bandwidth consumption, early detection of device failures, congestion, errors, and advanced notification of other SAN problems. Problems that, if gone undetected, can disrupt application performance and availability. This enables the SAN administrator to ensure the path between applications and data is performing optimally for rapid, consistent and timely delivery of data – every time. It eliminates the wasteful finger pointing and unnecessary fire fighting through unbiased root cause discovery.

NetWisdom Enterprise makes use of Traffic Analysis Points (TAPs) and Fiber Channel ProbeFCX devices to see and gather SAN traffic as it moves between SAN subsystems, providing a unique and powerful vantage point for understanding and addressing SAN challenges. This physical-later data, complemented by operational data that is simultaneously gathered by ProbeV software, is then passed on to Finisar NetWisdom software. NetWisdom Enterprise provides complete path monitoring and analysis for fast SAN problem resolution.

The NetWisdom Portal manages the collection and storage of this information, making it available for use as needed, and can send alerts in response to specific faults or error conditions. NetWisdom Views software provides a rich set of tables, graphs and charts that can be used to summarize, analyze and compare SAN performance. The NetWisdom Dashboard provides a real-time summary of the SAN's performance and faults, so SAN administrators can grasp the heath of the SAN in a single glance.
